Those of you who have been reading this blog know that I’m slightly obsessed with skin care. I don’t exactly have what most would consider the best skin in the world, but I’ve embraced the imperfections.
What I am concerned with is keeping my face constantly hydrated and preventing skin issues that someone my age deals with. I’ve documented all the different skin care products I’ve used over the years, but I’ve discovered that you have to find a balance between using quality products and taking care of your inner health because what you eat and drink affects your skin as well.
Winter isn’t the only time you get dry skin. Summertime can also welcome those annoying dry skin spells. This is especially true if you’ve spent time out in the sun and you’re now sporting that summertime accessory: sun burn. I recently came home from the beach with a major sun tan. I could tell that it was going to be one of those tans that could end up peeling bad if I didn’t do anything about it. I experimented with a mix of coconut oil and my favorite tea tree oil and applied it to my skin every morning and night for a few days. Guess what? No peeling and sun burnt skin!
