Want to know how to look and stay young? Get plenty of sleep.
I look forward to getting into bed at night, and ever since I got this new super soft comforter bed time has become the best part of the day. Well, besides my morning cup of coffee.
If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile you know that I like to keep things very simple, and my night time routine is no different. I was watching my sister-in-law’s skin care routine on YouTube recently, and there is no way I could go through that every night just to maintain my skin. I’d probably fall asleep before I even get done with my face!
While most women’s night time skin care routine is a big production, mine consists of three products: Face wash, eye cream, and skin moisturizer. And I’m lucky if I even get as far as putting on the eye cream! I never go to bed without washing my skin at night, though. It doesn’t matter how tired I am.
I just started using the Yes To Carrots Daily Cream Facial Cleanser, which I like because it completely takes off my mascara so I don’t have to use a special eye makeup remover. I accidentally ordered the Vivo Per Lei Moisturizing Day Cream on Amazon (meant to buy the facial peel), but I needed moisturizer anyway. It actually ended up being a good mistake because it actually works great for my dry skin. I know it’s a “day” cream, but my face doesn’t care.
Sometimes I’ll wind down at night with a cup of hot ginger tea. Then I’ll lay in bed and read if I’m not too tired. One thing I do every night, though, is meditate for at least 10 minutes. I’ll put on a relaxing guided meditation from YouTube that puts me in the perfect state of mind for a good night’s sleep.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to get plenty of rest at night as part of your beauty ritual. Having a good, soft mattress that supports your whole body can do wonders as well.
When it comes to beauty and staying young, I believe it’s more about taking care of your mind and body than it is about having the the “right” beauty products.
What is your night time routine like? Are you a minimalist like me or is your skin care routine more elaborate?
