It’s interesting how much more you pay attention to your hair as you get older. Not that I didn’t care before, but I guess I’m more conscious about how I take care of it and making sure it stays soft and bouncy. Now that fall is here and I can finally wear my hair down, I’ve noticed that my hair has held up pretty well despite the fact that I haven’t cut or trimmed it in over a year. Heck, it might even be almost two years since my last cut.
Want to know my secret soft, bouncy hair?
I use shampoo and conditioners that don’t contain sulfates or parabens. Well, at least that’s the conclusion I’ve come to. Besides that, I also try not to use too many hair products like mousse, gel, or hairspray. Oh, and I rarely blow dry my hair.
Currently I’m using Privé’s Shining Weightless Amplifier Shampoo and Conditioner, which was created by renowned hair stylist, Laurent Dufourg. The formulas contain jojoba, borage, and rosemary, which leaves my hair smelling light and fresh, and oh….so soft. I only apply the conditioner to the bottom half of my hair because my scalp tends to get oily pretty quick.
Bear in mind that this shampoo and conditioner is more on the high-end of the scale. You can find a 16.9 oz. bottle on Amazon for $36 for the shampoo and $45 for the conditioner. Fortunately, I was offered these samples gratis, but would gladly dish out the dough because of the quality and how much I love the way my hair feels.
