Taking care of my skin during the summer has never been so challenging. I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older (probably so, but I’m in denial). I’ve found myself with a little OCD about my skin and making sure I’m stocked up on skin care products.
During a recent camping trip to Sequoia National Forest I only wanted to pack the essentials. It just so happens I received products from California Naturel to review, which are actually the four products I believe that you must have in your beauty arsenal for any summer travel:
Lip Balm: California Naturel’s lip balm with SPF 8 leaves your lips so silky smooth. Apparently, it also makes your lips look very kissable too. My fiance asked me, “What is THAT on your lips?”, and then he proceeded to plant his lips on mine.
Sunscreen: I was against applying sunscreen for a long time, but that was until organic and natural products came onto the market. I love that California Naturel’s sunscreen with SPF 30 doesn’t have that awful smell and white streaks that most sunscreens have, plus it’s not oily or sticky and doesn’t contain parabens, sulfates, and harsh synthetic chemicals. Hopefully I can avoid the crazy sunburn and peeling I experienced last month!
Facial Cleanser: After a hot, humid day that leaves my face oily, I welcome a fresh, lightweight facial cleanser. Some of you long-time readers know I’ve tried many cleansers in the past, and California Naturel’s Gentle Cleansing Gel is now in my top 3 favorites. It has a luxurious feel and easily washes away the dirt and oil.
Moisturizer: If there’s one beauty product that I absolutely can’t do without these days, it’s moisturizer. It’s especially important during the summer because the sun can dehydrate and damage the skin. California Naturel has a Nourishing Cream that is not greasy at all and penetrates the skin very quickly. I also like that it’s not too dense and the scent is light and fresh.
