Review: LaCurcio Luminous Macro Repair Eye Cream and Equalizer Essential Skin Balance

LaCurcio Skincare Products

As much as I like to ignore the fact that I’m getting older, the lines and wrinkles that are creeping up are telling me another story. Even the part of me that doesn’t really care, actually sometimes does care. I can’t stress enough how important it is to take care your skin regardless of how old you are. The younger you start, the better!

As some of you know, I really like to keep my skincare regimen simple, but lately I’ve been stepping out of my comfort zone and experimenting a tad bit. I was offered the opportunity to try out a couple products from the LaCurcio luxury skincare line: The Luminous Macro Repair Eye Cream and the Equalizer Essential Skin Balance. You can’t help but feel inspired by Jacki Curcio’s dream and determination to create something that she truly believes in.

“You are not defined by a number. Enhance and defy your age for the timeless beauty you deserve.” –Jacki Curcio

One of the essential ingredients I look for in a skincare product is hyaluronic acid, which is considered “nature’s moisturizer”. Both the eye cream and equalizer contain hyaluronic acid, plus they’re paraben, sulfate, and phthalate-free.

I gave myself a month to test out the products to truly see if they make a difference in how my skin feels and looks. I’ve been spraying the Equalizer on my face twice a day (morning and night) before I apply moisturizer. I also dab a tiny bit of the eye cream under my eyes and on the side of my eyes.

The Equalizer Essential Skin Balance is supposed to balance the skin’s natural pH and keep the skin hydrated. I definitely noticed that the skin on my forehead and around my nose doesn’t get rough and dry halfway through the day like before. I used to exfoliate my skin every day or every other day, and now I just exfoliate once or twice a week. I’ve used about 1/3 of the Equalizer (4 oz) in one month, so I’d say that one bottle would last about 3 months or so.

There’s actually nothing that I don’t like about the Equalizer Essential Skin Balance. I never appreciated or really understood that toners can have such an affect on how your skin feels. I’m sold on the concept now.

As for the eye cream, it’s supposed to strengthen the capillary walls, firm, smooth, and neutralize the free radicals while locking in the moisture. One of the concerns I have with my eyes are the bags under my eyes. Many times I notice super double bags, which is pretty annoying. After using the eye cream for a month I’ve noticed that the bags are not as puffy, plus the skin has brightened up as you can see here in this picture of me not wearing any makeup…

You get 1/2 oz for the eye cream, but a little goes a long way. At the rate I’m using the product, I should have it for at least 5-6 months.

LaCurcio Luminous Macro Repair Eye Cream

I honestly was skeptical about using these products. How many times we’ve been disappointed by skincare lines that promise so many things, yet don’t deliver. However, the money you pay for these LaCurcio products are certainly worth it. The Equalizer Essential Skin Balance is $57 and the Luminous Macro Repair Eye Cream is normally $95, however, you can get the eye cream for just $45 ($50 off!) using promo code “Maria45” at checkout. Offer good 2/7/13 until 2/28/13.
