Favorite Looks From NYFW Fall/Winter 2013 (Days 1-3)

NYFW Fall 2013 favorite looks

The glitz and glamour have taken center stage in New York because Fashion Week is here once again. It’s the week when designers display their creativity and the celebrities are in full effect.

It was once a passion of mine to document the latest from the fashion industry, but other interests took over – mainly, a focus on the balance between inner and outer beauty. Thus, the birth of this blog.

However, that hasn’t stopped me from spending a Saturday morning with a cup of mocha perusing the pages of Style.com to find fashion inspiration for next fall.  Here are a few looks that spoke to my fashionista side…

This particular look by Prabal Gurung caught my eye because it’s the military look with a little twist.  The color details in the pants are a nod to his Nepali roots…

Prabal Gurung is relatively new to the NYFW scene, launching his first collection in 2009 after gigs with Cynthia Rowley and Bill Blass. For those of you who like his style, you’ll be happy to know that he is collaborating with Target on a collection this year.

As a follower of Rebecca Minkoff on Instagram and lover of her gorgeous handbags, I was looking forward to her fall collection.  It did not disappoint.  There’s something about Rebecca’s personal style and beauty that is natural and down-to-earth.

I’m not sure if the pattern on this Rebecca Minkoff jacket is supposed to be camouflage, but I love it.  A simple grey dress with the jacket is just my style…

Kate Spade’s 2013 fall collection is quirky and girly.  I love these classic looks that are one part colorful and two parts sassy…

This look from the Helmut Lang collection could easily be worn right off the runway.  The abstract/geometric artist side of me especially likes the top…
