There are many things that affect our self-esteem. It could be the extra weight on our bodies, people who label or judge us, or certain things on our bodies that are unwanted or we think are unnecessary such as facial hair, back hair, or hairs that make us wonder…WTF?
For example, have you ever wondered what the purpose of underarm hair is? Well, I have, and I can’t come up with an answer. All it does is annoy the heck out of me and I’m just embarrassed to raise my arms because I have coarse hairs that still show no matter how close I shave to the skin. For many years now I’ve been self-conscious about my armpits. I’ve tried waxing, but that’s just messy. I’ve even gone so far as to pluck the hairs so they don’t grow back as fast, but that takes forever. Another big thing that affects self-esteem is acne. I suffered from acne all throughout middle school and high school. I got it on my face, but I also got it on my back too.
