As someone who is involved in social media and spends enormous amounts of time online, I’ve seen many different styles and trends. Whether it’s Instagram, Pinterest, other fashion blogs, Facebook, or Twitter, I find fashion inspiration everywhere. One thing I have noticed lately, though, is that it seems like everyone is wearing Michael Kors’ watches. I have yet to see a fashionista wearing any other designer watches.
If you like Michael Kors watches, then hey, who am I to tell you what you should or shouldn’t wear? I’m a big fan of his clothing designs and he can rock a black shirt like there’s no tomorrow, but I just don’t see why women are gaga over his watches.
Why not wear a watch that is fun or unique?
If money was not an issue, I would definitely invest in a Richard Mille watch. Now this is a guy who has been in the watch business for many years and clearly has a passion for it. I’m not a watch snob or connoisseur by any means, but I know quality, creative, and innovative design when I see it. Natalie Portman, one of the brand’s ambassadors, was wearing the gorgeous Richard Mille watch pictured above at a charity event earlier this year.
Below is a man’s watch, but I would still wear it. I have a thing for square watches…(Available at www.officialwatches.com)
Richard Mille’s designs are truly works of art. Granted, they may cost about what you would pay for two (or three!) Hermes bags, but if you are a watch collector, it may be seen as an investment – something to be passed down from generation to generation as an heirloom or sold later on. At least it doesn’t lose its value like a $40K car, right?
What I do like about Richard Mille is that he’s also a philanthropist, donating to Jackie Chan’s Dragon Heart Foundation, Rafa Nadal Foundation, and Sentebale, which was founded by Prince Harry of Wales.
I get it, though. We can’t all own a Richard Mille watch, myself included, but I’m definitely open to the possibility of having one someday…Dreams do come true!
