If you live in San Diego or will happen to be in San Diego this month, here are a couple fashion events you may be interested in attending…
Project Ethos at the House of Blues – Project Ethos wants to close the gap between the Indie and Mainstream worlds by serving as an incubator for emerging talents.
On Thursday, September 15th at 8pm, local up and coming fashion designers, musicians and artists all come together to showcase their innovative talent. The runway show will begin at 10pm where the official sponsor, vitaminwater zero™, lends its support at this affair by sponsoring the “Flavor Fashionista Challenge.” Designers are given the opportunity to win prizes valued up to $3,000 if their garment is chosen as the winning design as inspired by a vitaminwater zero™ flavor through a live text-to-vote. Students from The Art Institute of California participating in the design challenge include Cecilia Torres, Elina Sheripova, Haley Hanson, Amanda Alkas and Steven Mayor.
The charity partner for this event is NEST, a nonprofit organization that empowers female artists around the world through interest free loans, offers mentoring from established artists and designers as well as providing a market to sell their crafts, successfully moving women from poverty to self-sufficiency. Project Ethos plans to donate $1 from every ticket sold to cause.
