Favorite Looks From Donna Karan Spring 2012 Ready-to-Wear

When I was in high school I had dreams of moving to New York, working on Wall Street, and having a wardrobe full of DKNY clothing. I was going to live the true urban life. None of that happened because the dream has changed. Well, except for the part about having a closet full of DKNY clothing.

For a long time now, though, I have admired Donna Karan and her sense of style. Her Spring 2012 collection is no exception. The tribal prints that took over this year in the fashion world seem to have spilled over into spring as well.  Here are a couple of my favorite looks from the show…

One thing that I really like about Donna Karan’s designs is that you can literally walk off the runway and wear these pieces as is.  With this spring collection, it looks like Donna garnered inspiration from her travels once again.  I especially love the oversized bangles and necklaces.

As for Donna’s DKNY show this past Sunday, it was called ‘American Expressionist’ for its West Coast meets East Coast aesthetic. I like everything from this show, of course — especially the wide-brimmed floppy hats. Watch a video of the show below…
